Thoughts On Prospect Enjoyers
I just needed to vent some thoughts on twitter arguments over prospects.
One of my favorite podcasts, Faxes From Uncle Dale, coined the term "prospect pervert." I love that term because there is no better way to describe what's going on in Blackhawks fandom right now.
With the draft looming and the Stanley Cup Final going on, Hawks fans are debating over who should go at third overall. Right now, it's sounding like Anton Frondell is the Blackhawks' favorite. That's based off of insider information via Scott Powers, who's pretty damn in tune with the Hawks organization.
There's a strong sense they're leaning towards Frondell, but it's not an absolute. If Misa is off the board, it sounds like the Blackhawks are weighing to either draft Desyoners, Frondell or Martone.

Other prospects include Porter Martone, Caleb Desnoyers, and James Hagens. People are hoping and wishing for a trade that moves the Hawks into position to draft Michael Misa, the consensus number two pick.
Twitter is currently filled with prospect battles that turn pretty heated. I haven't checked r/hawks on Reddit in a while, but I imagine what's going on over there can best be described as "sticky" and "gross."
I don't care if someone is super into prospects. I personally would rather watch the NHL over a CHL game, but if that's how someone wants to consume hockey, I'm all for it. I endorse people like The Prospect Don, who creates content about prospects. He's bringing value to hockey fans.
If your job isn't to scout these players or even watch replays of their games because you're in media, you probably don't know much. I'm going to trust the Blackhawks' scouting department over some random dude on Twitter.
I mean, shit. The same goes for me. I'm just some dude writing random thoughts about my favorite hockey team. This is all fake, and we all live in a simulation.
