Firefights and Crosschecks

A pulse check on things. Updates on the Instagram page and hockey stuff.

Firefights and Crosschecks
1/7 Baker 2nd Plt, Sangin 2012

What's up everyone.

Just doing a quick update on what's cooking and what to expect.

Over on the Instagram page, I've shifted the focus to pretty much all Helmand Province stuff.

The reason for the change is that I didn't know what to do with that page. I'm focusing all my IG hockey content on the Four Feathers Podcast page (here) and didn't want to do double the work.

So, I decided, why not just focus it on Helmand Province?

It's follower-driven, meaning I ask what they want to see and try my best to follow through. Here's what I have planned based on the recent results.

  • 1/7 Sangin 2012 (this week)
  • 3/4 Gereshk 2011
  • The Soviet Union in Helmand
  • 1/7 Helmand 2014
  • 2/9 Marjah 2010
  • Small unit leadership examples
  • 1st Recon 2010

One week is dedicated to each topic, and then I'll shoot a prompt back out to the masses for more.

A massive thank you to those who have submitted videos and pictures. It's brought back a lot of memories.

First Battalion, Third Marines

Last week, I published the Operation Mosh Tarak overview. I'm working on Charlie Company's fight at Five Points; no estimated timeline for when that will be done.

Expect research projects to slow down once hockey season starts.

On Tap Sports Net

I've been breaking down each NHL team until the regular season starts. The Central Division is done, and I've begun the Pacific Division. Links to each article are in the post below.

For Blackhawks stuff, I started breaking down tactics. I'm going from zone to zone and trying to identify what Blashill could do next season.

On Tap Sports also added a new member to the Blackhawks team, the Blackhawks Cowboy. Excited to work with him.

Once hockey starts up again, most of my writing will be dedicated to the Blackhawks. I'll do my best to keep up with the research projects here (currently named Helmand Archives), but I'm not going to rush things or burn myself out. Let it bake in the crockpot, not microwave it.
