War on Ice is a community for veterans and hockey fans.

I cover the Chicago Blackhawks at On Tap Sports Net and have a concerning level of fascination with the tactical side of hockey. This is where I can post my hockey thoughts free from the constraints of a more... civilized audience. This is for the vets. It's like listening to the drunk guy in the smoke pit ramble on about whatever.

But we don't just write about hockey here.

This is where stories from veterans come together. Whether you want to write about a team other than the Blackhawks, read about an Afghan war story, or read about something off the wall. We have it all here.

Veteran Hockey Organizations — Looking to play? We highlight veteran organizations dedicated to the great sport of hockey.
Community — Eventually, we may open a Discord so you can shoot the shit. Depending on demand.

What you won't find:

Promotions — We aren't against them. But if you want us to promote a product, it has to meet our guidelines.
MilFluencers — Not the place.
Boots — Boot is a mindset. So, I don't mean new members of the military (you're all welcome), but this applies to anyone. Don't be a boot. Call it out if you see it.

This is meant to be a community for veterans who are fans of hockey. Even if you aren't a fan of hockey, we think if you stick around, you'll come to love the sport. Every branch is welcome. POG, grunt, Active, Reserve, deployed, never deployed, PFC, Master Guns, it doesn't matter. You're all welcome. Just don't be a boot.
